gitk software package provides fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (revision tree visualizer), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gitk
gitk is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gitk package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gitk *
You will get with gitk package name, version, architecture and description in a table
